Wishing You an Outstanding Birthday!!

A special person I know is having a birthday this weekend so I wanted to make her a special birthday card!
I love this image by Mo Manning!! It's like 120 degrees outside, well...not quite, but it's super hot in Texas right now, so I figured I'd stay in and make some cards.

A Bittersweet Day!

As you can see, I haven't been blogging daily and let me tell you why......I've been so busy with my  kid's lives this past week. I've got one starting his first year of college and though I am super excited for him, I am sad to see him go. I'm going to miss seeing him drive up after school with his little sister in tow, I'm going to miss listening to his music as he rides along with me, frankly, I'm just going to miss his presence in our household.

He is packed and ready to head off to begin a new chapter in his life, as I look at his boxes of belongings I can remember the day I dropped him off for his first day of  Pre-Kinder...he was fine. He didn't cry he was ready to go.
I have a very strong feeling today will be the same.
My son, Josh, on the left! Hook'em Horns! His bestfriend since Pre-K, is an Aggie!

God Bless You Son! I love you and will miss you.
Love,
Mom

Should I call this one "Wild Child"?

After spending many hours working on an outfit...I feel like I should name it! "Wild Child" came to my mind after creating this outfit! I used a technique from a pattern by Brassy Apple, then I embellished a tshirt to go with the jeans...and then, I couldn't stop there.....I had to make a matching head band!!!

I'm linking this outfit to a really cute site: Night Owl Crafting, I find the cutest inspiration here!

I think this one will go into my JustUsGirlz etsy shop.
Thanks for visiting tonight!!! I'm posting this early for Thursday because I just know my kids are gonna have lots to do. And when they have lots to do, I have lots to do!!!
Have a Blessed Wednesday night and an even better Thursday!

One Last Back to School Project...And Bows!!!

I promise!!!!LOL I know I've gone crazy making back to school gifts, but hey, they are SOOOO much fun!!!!
Lastnight I made these pencil bundles using a new image from Whimsie Doodles. I had all these pencils in my closet. I keep a rubbermaid box of school supplies in my closet to replenish my kids' supplies, but for the past couple of years they've been using mechanical pencils, so I figured I'd put my stash to good use!
I'm using this project  for a challenge over at Paper Playtime

I recycled some cans from lastnight's dinner and decorated them really quickly, can you tell!?LOL

Digi Image: Whimsie Doodles, Sentiment: Microsoft Word Art, Ribbon: WalMart
And one more project........
I've always seen these giant buttons at WalMart sold in 3's. They are so cute, but I couldn't figure out what else to do with them....then I thought...Hairbows!!!!!
So...I made 3!!! he,he!
**Sorry for the glare..it's not even 10am and the sun is shining so brightly! Gonna be another HOT day!
Aren't these buttons the cutest!? I wish I could figure out more uses for them. Any suggestions? I'd love to hear them!!!

Crafting with Erasers!

I found these felt chalkboard erasers at the dollar store the other day and just knew something cute could be made out of them. You can use this eraser on a dry erase board also.
I found this sentiment in my new PaperCrafts magazine, it was on a "back to school" card. But I just knew it would be perfect on these erasers.
I painted the top with black acrylic paint, and then used my white gel pen to write the sentiment. I then used my E-6000 glue to attach some buttons. I think I clear coat or sealant will make it last longer, I'll apply that tonight when it's not 101 degrees outside!!!

Happy Monday!

Wow! I am up bright and early this morning. Well, it's not bright outside...yet! BUT...it's early!!!!
So...I sat down with some hot tea and did my favorite thing......read some blogs!!!!
Look at what I found:

Teacher's Gifts once more!

I am back today with another set of gifts for Teacher's! It's gonna be a great school year!!!!
These can be made in any theme, but are so cute dressed up for class!
Again, I used my stamp set by Pure Innocence, Heather Ellis makes the cutest stamps! I wrapped a piece of
patterned paper around the bottle. Decorated the front and finished it off with some ribbon!

Here are a couple more. I was so proud of myself for using scraps! I am trying to do less shopping and more consuming! So...I made sure to look through my scraps and I found some cute patterned paper that fit just right!

Yea For Teachers!!!

I used to work with the school district so I have a lot of respect for teachers!! PreK through 12th grade!!! It takes a special kind of person to teach on a daily basis!!! With that being said, I am working on teacher gifts this week. School starts in a few weeks and summer will be over...sad! :( BUT....I've got some cute projects to share with you!!!

I had several of these mason size jars in my kitchen. So, I painted on a Chalkboard square, and used a rubberstamp by Pure Innocence to make a tag. I filled my jars with peppermint candy. Peppermint is known to give you energy and "pep" you up...sometimes, around 2:00, you need all the "pepping" you can get!!!

I tied on a chalk stick and a small felt square to erase and write on again, and again!!! Fun!!!

Mason Jar filled w/ Peppermints

Tied on a tag, chalk and felt square. Wrote a fictitious teacher's name for display purposes.

Forgot to mention, that I used a scallop circle and circle for the top, just to finish them off!

Check back later this week and I'll show you what I have done with these!

Thanks for visiting today! Have a blessed Monday!!!
