Bible Journaling using a Paper Napkin

I will update the photos when I correct Anxiety!! But you get the idea!! LOL

Why yes! I am posting about Llamas again tonight! LOL

For my birthday, my sister in law, made me a beautiful cake. She found some adorable plates and napkins at Dollar General. I loved them so much, I wanted to save one forever.

So....
I used it in my Journaling Bible with a verse from Proverbs.

Proverbs 12:25 New International Version (NIV)

 Anxiety weighs down the heart,
but a kind word cheers it up.

We all know that when we suffer from anxiety it puts a heavy burden on us and affects us in our every day life. It's hard to focus, socialize, cope with life, and simply smile. But a kind, encouraging word can help us and warm our hearts. If someone is suffering, please don't point out their faults. The worst thing you can say to someone is, "Are you doing your part? Are you living right? Maybe if you didn't do this, or say this?"
Don't point out someone's flaws if you fail to see your own. I'm just speaking from experience.
God does not want us anxious and suffering from life's burdens.

Here he says:

Philippians 4:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Have you used paper napkins in your Journaling Bibles yet?

I love using them! It's so easy and so pretty.
Simply peel off the 2nd layer of tissue, cut out your design, and apply it with clear Mod Podge.
Quick tip: I use a sponge applicator to apply the mod podge to my page, then carefully lay the napkin down. Dab it very carefully w/ the sponge to adhere to the page. Do not wipe, or you will tear your napkin!! Ask me HOW I KNOW!? LOL

And there you go.....

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a blessed night!

Handmade Birthday Card

Wow...we are at the middle of the week! I am SO looking forward to Friday!
Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I actually got a handmade card made for her! It had been a really long time since I had sat down and made a card. And I'm so glad I did!!!!

She loves vintage, shabby, little girl images and lace. This card has a little of everything. I found this image online, printed it onto off white paper and adhered it to card stock. I used a distressing ink around my edges. Stickles was used to outline the photo. I backed it with a doily, and layered some lace.

I really enjoyed making this and have decided I need to do this more often. I found it quite relaxing!!!!

Have a blessed Wednesday!!!

Happy Birthday Lil' Cowboy!

This past weekend, we celebrated my nephew's 1st Birthday. His parents, mostly his mama, did a wonderful job at decorating for the party. She even set up a  "photo prop" w/ hay bales, pumpkins, and my dad's saddle. My nephew had a wonderful time!

I wanted his 1st birthday cards to be special, so these are the 2 that I made for him.

Happy Birthday to You! and a scarf

Hi there! I'm sitting here in the office eating my lunch. We are getting some much needed rain thanks to Tropical Storm Ingrid.
I actually got some crafting time in this weekend. Felt great!
I made this card and scarf for our church pastor. I was happy to hear she loved them both. Now I just can't wait for it to get cool enough for her to actually enjoy wearing it!

This is a simple, crocheted Infinity scarf.

Well, back to my lunch. I had some delicious Rosemary/Basil baked chicken, and pasta salad. These were leftovers from my weekend of cooking.
I'm now enjoying a mini pecan pie.

Be blessed! Have a wonderful Monday!

It was a SPECIAL day.....

My sister's birthday that is. You see, the other day was my one and only sister's birthday! Her birthday is as special as she is to me. She's my older, wiser sister. I meant to post this on that day...but my schedule this week has been crazy. PLUS..on her bday we had to travel to Austin to move our boys from one apartment to another. It was HOT!!! But, we got it done.

I made my sister, Arlene, this card and sent her a little goodie package. I hope she enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it just for her! I am posting this a couple of days late because I didn't want to spoil her surprise!!!

I actually won this set last year from

I'm a Guest Designer today!

WooHoo! It's Friday! And even though its rainy and cool outside, I'm still super excited to be on Joni's
Raise the Bar Design Team for this week! The theme for Challenge #92 is A Side of 'Chips'. Use Chipboard on your creations!

I had the hardest time getting a good photo. These papers are pastel and shimmery...and they were not cooperating with the camera! LOL Okay, so to fit with the theme, I used a #2 chipboard piece and covered it with pink glitter.

Card Details: Patterned Papers-Heidi Grace 8x8 pad, Stickles and Bling-Studio G, Seam Binding-Vintage..really vintage..bought this at a thrift store. 25 cents for a big roll! :), Border Punch-Martha Stewart, Chipboard-Basic Grey, Digi Image-Pure Innocence

Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, the day is almost over and I think it was a pretty swell one! I hope my Mom enjoyed her day!
I also hope she enjoyed her cake and handmade card. She loves the vintage look, so I made a card especially for her!

This was her "vintage" mini cake. The frosting was cream cheese, so divine!

She was also "showered with cards" by many of my "pea-friends". Thank you ladies for making my Mom's bday a special one!

I think it was a very blessed day. And I know she deserves SO much more! But I do know
she enjoyed her day!

Love you Mom!!!
