Cutest Blog on the Block

Well, HI there!!!!

Wow! It's been a longgg time since I've been here. Life has just been a roller coaster and I had to focus on other things and put aside my blogging...and crafting!  In November 2013 our 9 yr. old yellow lab, Cash was diagnosed w/ Mass Cell Tumor cancer. He underwent surgery to remove 3 tumors and recovered well. But in January, the tumors started coming back. We were so discouraged and devastated. Since then, he has been on tumor shrinking meds, antibiotics and steroids. His life is not over, he still is so healthy in other ways...full of energy and besides the tumors, is doing very well.
Here is Cash in his favorite spot on the front porch.

Then in December we got 2 more labs.....they are brother and sister, we named them Cocoa and Mocha....here are their 1st photos:
"Shelby" was changed to "Cocoa" cause I thought it suited them both better. (sorry, hubby). He wanted to name him Shelby after the Ford Mustang...uh, he's not a horse! LOL

Here is Mocha...she is sweet, full of energy, stubborn, and downright dramatic!! But I love her!!!

This is Cocoa...he is sweet, calm, cool and collected.

They are growing in leaps and bounds............

And this is our Presley!!! He is the BEST dog. 6 yrs. old and super sweet! He's so quiet, when he barks it's the oddest thing. Will play Frisbee 24 hours a day if you let him!

Thanks for visiting me today!!!

Have a blessed Wednesday!!!!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Today is a special day indeed! It's my Mom's birthday! We had the pleasure of celebrating yesterday and it was a joy to spend time as a family! My Mom has been THE best Mom...she has always been there for us. She sacrificed so much to give us the best. I'm so blessed to still have her and thank God for her everyday!

Growing up I remember jumping in mud puddles to play, while wearing a pretty church dress. I remember asking her if we could play with her pricey Mary Kay make-up and she would say Yes! (only because she was napping and not really aware of what we were asking!) LOL I remember laying on the couch one morning and she brought me a tin pie plate full of baby frogs...I loved them!

She handed down some wonderful mothering skills like making potato and egg tacos w/ Lay's potato chips,  or Miga tacos from fritos and eggs! And...she also taught me NOT sweat the small stuff. Her favorite quotes are: "There's worse things." and "Ten years from now, will all of this really matter?!"

Thanks Mom for being so wonderful! I hope you have a very blessed BIRTHDAY!!!!

Love you lots~~~~

Have a blessed Sunday!
thanks for stopping by~~~~

A Pinterest Recipe to share!

I thought it would be nice.(.since I don't have a lot of crafting time, therefore crafts to share,) that I share some Pinterest recipes or projects!

I was looking on Pinterest for a simple, yet delicious side dish for our Christmas dinner.

I found this one:

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn - So rich and creamy, and unbelievably easy to make with just 5 ingredients. Doesn't get easier than that!
You can find it here: Slower Cooker Creamed Corn by Damn Delcious

I tell you it was a hit! The only change I made was I did not use canned corn, I used frozen Sweet Corn, and I didn't add sugar. I also doubled the recipe for my large family.
It was so good....they ate it all up! My kids were asking for it the next day!

Hope your Christmas was a wonderful one !
See ya soon~~~~~

Easy Christmas Dresses!

I know I'm a day late. But I do hope you had a Blessed Christmas. I have been so busy with work, a dog that had surgery, and a hubby with kidney stones. But I survived all that...only to come down with a  cold and cough.
I did manage to get some sewing done, and made 3 easy Pillowcase dresses.

Chevron Print

Owl and Chevron Print w/ Bow

Rudolph Print

These are great worn alone, or paired with a  turtle neck and tights.

Again, I hope your Christmas was filled with many blessings!!!!

See ya' in the New Year!!

Thanksgiving is almost here!

Thanksgiving is just a few days away and I JUST put up a fall wreath I made! In a couple of weeks I'll have to put up a Christmas one!

I bought a grapevine wreath, flowers and ribbon at WalMart and found this cute Owl Wooden piece at Dollar General..those are the quirks of living in a small town. LOL! You work with what you can get!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to try and craft a bit.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hope it's filled with many blessings!

A Pinterest Project!

After lots of browsing, pinning, and drooling...I finally got to work on a Pinterest project that I pinned!

I call these Cozy Toes gift bags:

I downloaded this tag last year...I was trying to look for link but all I see is Taylor 2012. But I'm sure you can google one.
I added color coordinated things like socks, nail polish and lotion.
Added the tag, a jingle bell and ribbon.
Super quick and easy gift idea!

So happy to be off tomorrow for Veteran's Day. Hoping to get some crafting time!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a blessed Sunday!

Owl Obsessed--That's ME!

For some reason, I have always liked owls, and now you see them everywhere! I think I've really liked them for about the past 5 years, because for my 40th Bday, I asked for a James Avery Owl charm, which I'm not wearing today, so here's a stock photo.:

I am wearing my Owl Ring, which was a gift from a coworker:
She said she found this at Cato's on clearance for $2!!

So today I'm sharing my small collection here at work:
This little guy is a tart warmer but I use him to hold my paperclips.

The gray owl is from Bath&Body and holds my antibac and lights up with disco lights! Hey, he helps me keep the fun in my work day. The small yellow owl was a bday gift he holds some yummy coconut lotion, gotta keep my typing hands soft! The bright mug, with matching box was a bday gift from a coworker, and the fall owl mug was a bday gift from my boss! Ya..I've got a really nice boss! Perfect for my morning coffee. She got this at Bed, Bath and Beyond.
Here's a few more owls, a pink owl lollipop that I cannot bare to eat! Another tartwarmer and an owl photo holder.

And last but not least...my Fall Owl collection. Courtesy of Dollar General. The white Owl Tart Warmer is from Better Homes & Garden, found this at WalMart last fall.

My mother told me that owls were really popular when I was little (in the late 70's), so I'm guessing that's where my love for Owls came from .

Happy Birthday to You! and a scarf

Hi there! I'm sitting here in the office eating my lunch. We are getting some much needed rain thanks to Tropical Storm Ingrid.
I actually got some crafting time in this weekend. Felt great!
I made this card and scarf for our church pastor. I was happy to hear she loved them both. Now I just can't wait for it to get cool enough for her to actually enjoy wearing it!

This is a simple, crocheted Infinity scarf.

Well, back to my lunch. I had some delicious Rosemary/Basil baked chicken, and pasta salad. These were leftovers from my weekend of cooking.
I'm now enjoying a mini pecan pie.

Be blessed! Have a wonderful Monday!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy September!

Good Sunday morning to you! Normally at this time I'd be in church. But my hubby had to go preach at a church out of town, and I stayed home to see our daughter off. She was visiting this weekend from college.
I haven't blogged in a month...for 2 main reasons: 1. My camera is acting up...it snaps the photo, but then the photo just shows up black. And no..I don't have the lense cap on. he,he! and  2. I'm now working full time...8-5 everyday! I love my job and the extra income...but I'm really sad that I don't have my hours of crafting time. I REALLY miss crafting on a regular basis. :(

So I don't have any pictures of new crafts that I have created...plus, I don't really have any newly created  crafts.

So for today...lets just enjoy September 1st and saying Good-bye to summer and Hello to Fall!

Have a blessed Sunday!

You Are a Blessing

So happy it's Friday! It's been a hectic week, but I am thankful that I found some crafting time!
I also found a cousin on Facebook who has turned out to be a blessing! She added me because she was on my sister's friends list. Turns out we are cousins!! Over the years I have lost touch with many family members and I'm thankful that Facebook has been a place where we can reconnect!

I made this card for all those have been a blessing to me:

Card Details: Patterned paper-My Mind's Eye, Image-BugABoo, Sentiment-Create with TLC

Our family is just full of talent! This is what my new found cousin, Catherine sent me:

Aren't these the MOST adorable things you seen!? I have a brand new niece and have really enjoyed looking for pretty, girly things. Catherine was so gracious to make me 2 pairs! She is super talented!
And here are my nieces tiny feet!!!

We were in church when I was trying to put these on her. She was kicking because she was hungry. She was NOT in the mood to try on shoes! But as you can see, they are a perfect fit...and oh SO beautiful! They lace up like ballerina slippers...but Asmari just wanted to eat!

Have a blessed Friday!

Confession Day....I have an Obsession

You see....for as long as I can remember, I've had this obsession with cups, tumblers and sometimes mugs. And I finally realized that it goes way back to my childhood. You see, my Mom took my bottle away at a very young age...I think I was 8 months old. I had this little pink cup I'd drink out of. I'm sure I struggled...but eventually succeeded I'm sure! LOL So...I have to put the blame somewhere...Thanks MOM!!! LOL

Not sure where she bought this cup, but it's about 45 years old.
So I'm sure she only paid about 10 cents for it.

And that one lil' cup....led to this obsession:

These are currently part of my "favorites collection". My Divided House tumbler, which I made on my own, my Diva Zebra tumbler, and my Cute Owls tumbler.

And this set: Aluminum tumbler with my kids' photos, my Mason jar tumbler, Aluminum owl tumbler which I sadly have lost the lid, and the newest addition...
The Pink Owl" looks like a can" tumbler!!!
I found this one at a book store that has gone out of business. I lost the screw top and would love to find another. Looks like the one pictured, but the smaller version. Thanks for any help~~~~

Oh..and besides tumblers....I LOVE planners!!!! But that would be a whole other blog post!

I currently have these 3 in my purse...the Zebra one is my daily memory planner, I jot down special memories of the day, or news events, etc. Things to look back on. I also add tiny pictures, or quotes, or even Fortune cookie papers!
The black one is for work. I right in my hours, court days, document things, etc.
And the pink one is for my daily personal reminders. such as my kids' events, to do's etc,
family bdays, anniversaries, etc.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great Saturday!!!

It was a SPECIAL day.....

My sister's birthday that is. You see, the other day was my one and only sister's birthday! Her birthday is as special as she is to me. She's my older, wiser sister. I meant to post this on that day...but my schedule this week has been crazy. PLUS..on her bday we had to travel to Austin to move our boys from one apartment to another. It was HOT!!! But, we got it done.

I made my sister, Arlene, this card and sent her a little goodie package. I hope she enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed making it just for her! I am posting this a couple of days late because I didn't want to spoil her surprise!!!

I actually won this set last year from

Princess Fussy Pants

Good Saturday to you! Today I want to share a super cute and easy set I put together with a store bought Onesie and Handmade Tutu.

When I saw this Onesie at Walmart it just screamed....."PUT A TUTU ON ME!"

So...I made one. My daughter's cat was a bit curious about it...maybe she wanted to try it on for size.

and here's the set! Don't they look cute together!?

Have a great Saturday!

Easy July 4th Flag Onesie

Happy 4th of July! My niece, Asmari, was actually due today...but she came early and made her appearance last week. If she was going to be born on July 4th..I wanted to name her Liberty! LOL But...for one, she's NOT mine, and two..she came a week early. Asmari..this is Hebrew for "the anointed one". Pretty, huh?  Anway, I thought it would be fun to make her this outfit...her 1st holiday outfit! :)

Here's a full view:

It was super easy to make. I stitched on some red ric-rac and then stithed on a little blue bow.
The hairbow was made from ribbons and a felt flower I had. I attached it to a white crocheted headband.

I wish you a wonderful Independence Day! May it be filled with fun, family and food!!!
