As I was making this card, I found it to be so relaxing!! No wonder I use to enjoy cardmaking so much!

Need a cute card? No ProbLLAMA!!!

Woah! It's been a month since my last post!! Guess my question is, does anyone read blogs anymore?

It's no news that Llamas and/or Alpacas, Unicorns and Rainbows are super popular right now. I, myself, are loving them. 
So when I found these cute Llama tags, I just knew I had to do something fun with them! What could be more fun than making handmade cards!!?

Handmade Gift Tag

WooHoo!!! It's FRIYAY!!!!!

I was wrapping a gift the other night and realized I didn't  have a card for my bag. Here's the scenerio: I live about 10 miles from the nearest town, it's 9:00pm, and I"m in my PJ's. What do I do??

I MAKE a tag!!!!

I grabbed a piece of scrap cardstock, cut it to size and punched a border along the bottom using a Martha Stewart border punch. I found a piece from a vintage hymnal, cut that to size and adhered it. I then added a butterfly (epherema) and a printed Beloved Society Girl. I had some butterfly ribbon in my stash too. Why not add that!!!? :)
I finished this off with a mini tab, a handmade paper clip, and some polka dotted ribbon. All in the comfort of my pj's. LOL

I also made her a bookmark for the Journaling Bible I gave to her. 

And added the tag to her gift bag.

Oh Happy Day!!!

Oh Happy Day! I have really enjoyed creating these little bits of art and finding that there is always a verse in my Bible to pertain to real life. Only because HE is real in my life!!!!

Ephesians 4:32

Be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving each other. Just as God in Christ also has forgiven you!

Continue to pray for all of those affected by Hurricane Harvey. I thank God we only had wind and rain. May everyone remain safe and recover from this hurricane.

Bible Journaling in my Tiny Notebook

Good Sunday evening to you....I have really enjoyed journaling in this #2 Wide Foxy Fix notebook. I thought this was a Licorice..but now I'm not sure. The leather is so soft and flexible. I am really loving it for my MINI Bible Journaling, Junk Journaling, and writing in my little Prayer Notebooks. 

Creating with my hands is what I do! I find it such a wonderful stress reliever. 

I have always loved this verse in 
1st Thessalonians 4:11
"Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you." 

I have all these paint chips laying around, at one time we were trying to decide on colors for my craft room and for the church. I wanted to put them to good use. So I've really enjoyed creating these little bits of art. 
The only downside to this, I don't like my handwriting!!!! Yikes!!! LOL Something I will have to practice on for sure!!! 

This past weekend, our Texas coast was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey, I continue to pray for God to put His mighty hands on all of those in need!

I'm a Blessed Mama Bear

Happy Friday!!! 

I'm so happy it's Friday, I am off and have lots to do today! But first I wanted to share with you how I have been keeping so busy!!!

A couple of months ago, I moved my booth into a local shop. I"m calling it Blessed Mama Bear. 

We live in a small town, not many places to shop, so this boutique is a wonderful place!!! She calls it OLIVE. 

I've always loved crafting and have a room full of crafting stuff!! I thought, "what better way to enjoy crafting and clear out my crafting room?!" (I'm not sure that will ever happen, but hey, I'm trying!) LOL!!

I found this desk at a near by thrift store for $40! I painted it and distressed it. The back wall belongs to the shop, she painted wood pallets with a dark brown paint. My daughter helped me add little white LED lights behind the pallet wall. My Mom contributed the ladder. I think it used to go to bunk beds, but it's painted cream and looks so cute! 

All of my display pieces have come from a thrift store or Goodwill. 

I've got a little bit of this and that. I guess that's what makes it fun when it comes to crafting.

Book Themed Baby Shower

Well Hello There!!!
I know it's been almost a month, but life just seems to have it's priorities, and sadly I don't know have the time or energy that I used to have. 

November was a super busy, crazy hectic month!LOL
 My son got married, 

we had Thanksgiving, 

and had a baby shower for my niece. 

She will be having a baby boy in a few weeks and we are looking forward to this special blessing. 

I did want to share one of her baby showers with you. My sister, Arlene,  had this "Book Theme" going on, and as you can tell by the pictures...it was Pinterest Worthy!!!!

DIY: DOLLAR STORE CHRISTMAS GLOBE

Good Evening to you! Seems Christmas Globes are all the rage right now! I have seem them everywhere and have just been itching to make my own! I can't wait to shop for small cars and trucks to get crafty!!
But sadly, I haven't had much time to shop for treasures, but I DO have a few pieces laying around the house.

The only thing I bought today, was the $1 nativity set and $1 brush tip trees.

I had everything else on hand:

Like I said, I collected all this from around the house. The jar with handle was a purchase from Ross ($2.49), Fake snow was in an old ornament I had, Mini LED soft white strong lights were from Dollar General ($3? or $5?), Elmer's Craft dots from my stash, Nativity figure and Brush Tip trees were $1 each from Dollar General. 

And here's my $10 project!!

Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

I cannot wait to hunt for more treasures and create more Christmas Globes!

That Darn "Crafting Bug"

Seriously! I'm supposed to be cleaning, but while cleaning, I will run into some stuff and think, "Hmmm, I could do something with this!" 

So there I go..I've been struck with the 

"Crafting Bug"

I put down the broom and pick up my glue gun!!!

I had bought this barn wood frame at the thrift store for about $1, the silver cross was a Christmas ornament I had bought but hadn't hung on the tree. The turquoise cross was a gift from a swap pal. I thought about adding it to a wreath, but while cleaning, I ran into these items and thought...I will put them all together somehow!!! Now, I am not a genius by any means, I had actually seen something similar on Pinterest (my obsession!) and pinned it knowing that I could whip it up with similar supplies. 

And here it is!! I cut up some burlap, found some cute animal print ribbon in my stash, and some brown burlap ribbon finished it off. 

I love it!!! And in a sense, I did some cleaning. These are a few items that I combined together and now I don't have to put them in their place. I can hang it on my wall and enjoy it!!!!

I'm sure my hubby would love if I caught the "Cleaning Bug" instead, but THIS makes me HAPPY!!!!

Handmade Birthday Card

Wow...we are at the middle of the week! I am SO looking forward to Friday! 
Yesterday was my Mom's birthday and I actually got a handmade card made for her! It had been a really long time since I had sat down and made a card. And I'm so glad I did!!!!

She loves vintage, shabby, little girl images and lace. This card has a little of everything. I found this image online, printed it onto off white paper and adhered it to card stock. I used a distressing ink around my edges. Stickles was used to outline the photo. I backed it with a doily, and layered some lace. 

 I really enjoyed making this and have decided I need to do this more often. I found it quite relaxing!!!!

DIY Valentine's Day Banner

I hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! On Sunday evening I was supposed to be cleaning my craft room aka guest room. 
Funny thing is, instead of cleaning, I get hit with the "Crafting Bug"! 
Ever had that happen to you??

With Valentine's Day coming up, I found a banner I had a bought at Target's Dollar Spot...it's a super cute, ready to embellish banner for $1!! It came with 8 triangles to decorate, but I only needed 4, so now I have 4 left for another banner! 

As I was cleaning, I found lots of little things to put on m banner. A baggy of ribbons and trims.

A sheet of rhinestone stickers (left over from my Faith Banner), a jar of buttons and some twine.

I looked around for some letters to put on my banner and found a box of letters from my old scrapbooking days. The brand on these is Kurio. I was so disappointed because I couldn't find an "O"...BUT, I did find a "Q", SO, because I live out in the country and can't just run to the craft store, and because I was too lazy to look for more letters....I  trimmed it up to MAKE it an "O"!! And it worked!!!

I tried different trims of lace and ribbon until I liked what I saw. I then used my hot glue gun to attach all the cuties!

And I came up with this:

And here's my banner again!!! Very inexpensive and quick to put together. My favorite kind of crafting project!!

Fastest Craft in the South!!!

Happy Saturday!! Hubby is napping and I needed a break from cleaning. I felt like being crafty!

So....I looked around my craft room mess and thought I'd try my hand at making this. I call it a  "handmade cross hanging", I'm not sure what it's really called but I had seen one a couple of weeks ago at a shop we recently visited and thought, 
"Hmmm, I KNOW I can make that!" 
and now I'm gonna show you how you can make it too!

I had bought the chevron burlap ribbon many months ago at Hobby Lobby, I bought the burlap, lace flower this past week at Hobby Lobby, it's made by The Paper Studio and it was 1/2 price. So $2 was a great price!!
The barn wood frame was given to me by my sister a long time ago...I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it, so I hoarded it!!! Thank Goodness!!! 

Supplies: a frame, wide ribbon or fabric, a flower for the center, scissors, and a staple gun.

I cut the burlap ribbon into 2 pieces. One to fit the lenghth of the frame, the other to fit the width. 

I used a staple gun to secure the ends on the back of the frame. 

NEXT STEP: I used a pipe cleaner cut in half to gather the centers of the burlap ribbon, I twisted it in the back and tucked it in along the gathers. I'm sorry I didn't get a photo of this but when I realized I was almost done, I got super excited and ran over to turn on my hot glue gun ! I was so excited, I forgot to take a photo!!!! LOL

And here it is!!! Hanging on my front porch. The whole project took me about 10 mins to complete and cost me about $5!!!! 

I'm a happy girl!!!

Week 46 in my Ochre Malden & Some Handmade Dividers

First of all...Thank YOU to all the service men and women that have served and protected our country in the past and present. God bless each and every one of you. I, myself, have several veteran's in our family. Thank you!!!!

Everyone that knows me, knows I love animals....always have. They are God's creatures, and I care for them Great and Small. 

For Week 46 I'm using some super cute dog stickers I found at WalMart, plus I'm using a Poodle Paper clip that I bought off someone on our Facebook group. :) I'm so happy I got these from her!

The other day I was at Michael's and found these on clearance for $3.

I loved the dividers w/ tabs at the top. It had cardstock sheets, embossed papers?, stickers, and 4 sheets of photo page protectors. (I'll show you how I used those on another post later). 

I cut some of the dividers to fit my  planner and laminated them. Now they fit perfectly in 

my Personal size Ochre Malden Planner. 

I will using the other bits and pieces of this kit when I'm making handmade cards.

My "MOJO" is back.......I think!!! *fixed photos

As you can see, I've been "away" for a long time. Life got crazy and I slowed down. Been suffering from some pinched nerves, that cause my hands and arms to go to sleep, getting treatment, but I'm only partially healed. Then I was diagnosed w/ High Blood Pressure. Not fun.


I was always on the run....running here and there with work, chores, and life's responsibilities.
After all this...I didn't have the time, energy or desire to create like I used to. UNTIL...lastnight!


I needed a baby gift for a lady from here at work. She decided on an owl theme for her baby girl that will be arriving soon,  so I looked thru my stash of supplies and came up with this:






I made her 3 burp cloths and a matching card. The owl fabric was some leftover remnants, found this print at Hobby Lobby many months ago. The polka dotted fabric and ric-rac is from Walmart.
The owl image was found on Pinterest pre-colored so it was perfect. The card is a box of plain cards I found at Ross. They came in a variety of prints, so I just add an image and embellies!




And the inside of the card....sentiment was found on Pinterest also.

I pray I am completely healed, God makes miracles everyday...so I know I'm on His list of 'to-dos'!
I really enjoyed crafting lastnight and here's hoping....I'm back in the game!!!! :)
