Framed Memo Boards

Just stopping in today to show you a quick project I worked on lastnight.  I thought they turned out pretty cute and couldn't wait to show them to you. I'm sorry I didn't take "before" pictures, but I was in a rush.

I started out with 2gold frames from Goodwill (99 cents each),2 cans of Valspar spray paint (I had these) a brand new package of 4 Cork Sheets (99 cents), ALSO from Goodwill. I love that store! {{sigh}} and a package of KI Puffy Stickers from Michael's (clearance priced at $2.79).
I attached some flat head tacks to the back of my puffy stickers with some super strong glue (E6000). I used baby powder on the exposed areas to take the "sticky" off.
And here is what I made:

Here's one for a Teacher:

Happy Saturday to you! The weather has been just beautiful lately here in south Texas. Cooler nights and cooler mornings spell....R E L I E F!! LOL

Hook'em Horns!

Oh one of the many things I love about Fall!!! Football!!! I prefer high school football because my daughter is a Cheerleader. But I do watch some college football, especially when it's the TEXAS LONGHORNS!
Only because I've got a longhorn myself..he's entering his 2nd year there and loves it!!!

Meljen's Designs is up to Challenge #75--Get Sporty!. I used Little Football Boy on my card:

Card Details: Digi Image-Meljen's Designs, Patterned Paper and Brads-The Paper Studio, Cardstock-Bazzill

And here are the 2 new images for this Just Sporty Challenge:

Sorry for my late posting. I am still tending to my Dad. He has been moved to a center for Rehabilitation and Physical Therapy. I spent lunch with him, he says he gets so lonely and bored. He's just not used to sitting still, he was always doing something, so this adjustment is really hard on him and all of us. Thanks for your prayers and kind words.

Have a great Thursday!!

A couple of weeks back I was invited to be on the Design Team for MyGrafico!! Super exciting, right!? I am so happy to be working along this talented group of ladies!

Featured this week is their collection of Beautiful Brides, these were designed by Olilia.

Aren't they stunning!!? I had so much fun working with set. I created this set here:

Project Details: Digi Image-MyGrafico, Cardstock-Bazill, Circle Dies-Spellbinders, Patterned Paper and Silver beads-The Paper Studio, Misc.-Ribbon and Paper Doily.

Here's an update on my Dad...and prove there is POWER IN PRAYER!! He is doing much better, he has regained movement on his left side. They have ruled out a stroke. Whatever bit or stung him on his left hand left him paralyzed on the left side, BUT...it seems it was temporary. When we went to visit him on Friday he was moving left leg up and down...so ready to jump out of bed!! LOL

Thanks for visiting today and have a blessed Monday!!

Life can be hard.......

I just wanted to come in and explain my absence. Explain why I haven't been blogging as much. I've hit a bump in the road. As one of my best friends says: "This too shall pass".....and I know it will. It may take time.

I have faith in God and in His timing...so all I can do is pray and take it One Day at a Time. Or as my late grandmother's favorite song goes..."Un Dia La Vez".

Here's the English version:

http://youtu.be/1Y1wtgLAytA

Anyway....here's my story in brief.

My Dad was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning.

It's such a long story, but to make it short, he is being treated in the hospital for a possible stroke, and a possible spider bite to his left hand.
My brother found him face down on the living room floor, his hand super swollen and had 3 large water filled blisters. He said he was trying to kill a bug or spider earlier in the day.
Every day I've been traveling an hour each way to visit him. He is partially paralyzed on his left side. He cannot walk or feed himself. Mentally he is all
there...as sharp as a tool. Sarcastic at times because he can't have a cigarette. :/ On Tuesday we all spent the day with him, it was his 69th Birthday.

We couldn't do much, but I know he enjoyed our company.

This is one of the hardest things I have been through. 1 1/2 weeks ago, he was driving the tractor and herding the cows, and now...he's helpless. :(

I promise to be back on track soon. I love creating  cards and crafts, it's always been an outlet for me.
Again, thank you and God Bless all of you!

New DT and Challenge!

This past weekend has been like a rollercoaster ride for me! During the past week I learned I was a new member on several design teams...I am super excited. THEN...on Saturday morning, my life turned upside down. My dad, who was this rough and tough cowboy, suffered a stroke. He is still in the hospital, so if my blog posts and challenge entries don't seem up to par, this is why. I don't have alot of "me" time, and emotionally and physically I am drained. I have faith in God that He will pull all of us through this!

My entry today is for a new Design Team that I am now on: MyGrafico. This week's theme is Challenge #110, Back to School. I love this new challenge...seems like lots of fun!

Please check out the DT's samples for some really cute ideas and inspiration!

This is what I made using the Back to School Bus.

And here is the collection:

Challenge ends September 10th at midnight. I cannot wait to see what you create!!

Thanks for visiting today. Have a blessed Monday!

Challenge #70-Back to School

Well, it's August! We all know what that means..."Back to School". I love this time of the year. My kids are mostly grown, two in college, on left at home and this is her Senior Year! So bittersweet! But I still love browsing through the Back to School section at stores. I love the smell of new spirals, pencils, erasers, etc. Yep...call me crazy, but I love school and office supplies! LOL

Anyhow, this is the theme for our Challenge #70.

Card Details: Digi Image-Meljen's Designs, Sentiment-Microsoft Word, Patterned Papers-Cosmo Cricket (scraps), Border-EK Success, Ribbon-Offray, Stickles-Ranger

Melissa created some really cute images to go along with this challenge. Aren't they just adorable!?

I used Apple for Teacher, but also love the Desktop Mouse! And the Checkered Apple Frame would look so cute tied onto a little gift or for a special not tucked inside your child's lunchbox! So, hurry on over to Whimsy Stamps and take a look for yourself. Then scurry on over to Meljen's Challenge Blog to play along with us! The Design Team has really come up with some super cute creations!!!

Have a great Thursday! And if your heat is like mine....stay cool!

Ladybugs Bring Good Luck

This is what I have heard..."Ladybugs bring good luck", and right now I need some good luck!!! These last 2 weeks of July have been very stressful and I'm ready to say "Goodbye"!
So with today being August 1st, I can only pray for better days. My car is home and according to Chevrolet is as "good as new". Okay...we will see.

My daughter, who is a high school cheerleader, has started MINI Cheer Camp today. The cheerleaders host this every summer as a fundraiser. It's so cute to see those little girls dressed up little cheerleaders. I remember taking my daughter when she was about 4. She's been cheering ever since!
