Journaling Bible: Showers in their Season

I was so thankful to finally get some rain last week. It rained for 2-3 days and God knows how much we needed that rain. I am ready to say good bye to this Texas heat and drought.

Because of God's blessing of rain, I thought this verse would be appropriate:

Honestly, I wanted to just cry when I realized this new stamp pad I was using was bleeding w/ my markers. But I had to remind myself that I don't do this to win a blue ribbon, or gain approval from others, I do this for myself. I found that reading the Word, and illustrating this way helps me to understand and absorb the Word, and fulfill my inner need to be creative.
Stamp is by Gillian Roberts.

Have a wonderful Tuesday! Like always...thank you for stopping by!

Journaling Bible-Love your Neighbor

Oh Monday, Monday!!! Seems to come back around too fast these days! But it is, what it is!

I can't say I have alot of neighbors...being that I live out in the country. But I think what God is saying is to Love your Neighbors not in a literal sense, but love those all around you. In Mark 12:31 it says "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."

And I know this is not always easy to do, especially with difficult people, but...it is God's word, and it is one of His commandants, so we should want to try our hardest to do this not just for ourselves, but to please God. I believe when we aim to please God, he pours His blessings unto us!

This stamp is by Tina Wenke, called Friends.  The alphabet letters were not in a package...so I'm not sure who makes those. Page flag from Target's $1 spot. Chalks were also used.
The bible I am using is by Crossway, it's a Journaling Bible and it's the ESV Edition.

Have a wonderful Monday!!!

Journaling Bible: Sweet as Honeycomb

**This is my 2nd post for today. I had prewritten the earlier one to update you on our Rescue Pups. Please scroll down for an update.**

Hey there! Here's a sweet verse:
Proverbs 16:24, "Gracious Words are like a Honeycomb, Sweetness to the Soul and Health to the Body."  As I reflected on this verse I thought about how this could benefit children, the elderly, students, coworkers, friends...everyone!! If only we would remember this and try to practice it daily.

I, myself, have decided to put this verse to work. I can only imagine the outcome of positive results I will start to see.

I forgot to take a photo of supplies I used, but I will try to list them:
Digital Image is by Mo Manning, found here Mo's Digital Pencil
The diecut stickers I think were by Making Memories, they are OLD, I've had them in my scrapbooking stash for years!!!  The Kraft letters are Target's $1 Spot, the Burlap Flower Clothespin was from Hobby Lobby, set of 3 in the Easter section.
Stickles used on her wings are by Studio G.

Thanks for visiting today!
Have a wonderful Thursday!

Update on the Rescue Pups

Well, I've had these 2 guys for almost 3 weeks now, and they seem to be doing really well.
They've gotten all their shots and were neutered last week. Recovery seems to be going well.

We are giving them love and hugs, and tummy rubs.....hope they find a loving, forever home soon.
They deserve it!!

This poor guy, was hit by an automobile at some time. He suffered a dislocated hip joint, and all ligaments in his knee were torn. His hip was put back in socket and for now, he is on medication.

This little guy, nicknamed by our groomer: HANDSOME, is adjusting well.

The two boys are so attached to eachother, I would love to see them get adopted together.

I let Handsome in on Sunday, his favorite spot is on the couch with me.
I had Bella our black poodle at my shoulders, and Handsome at my feet.
Aren't they so sweet!?

Have a wonderful Thursday!!!

Handmade Divider for my Planner

Well, Wednesday it IS! Honestly I wish I could stay home all day and listen to my Kari Jobe CD and work in my bible. Reading His word and meditating w/ the Lord. BUT>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
I HAVE TO WORK!!!!

So, here's a quick post to show you how I made a divider for my planner.
My son and his girlfriend, Amber, came to visit this past weekend, and with them they brought my early Birthday present. It was a bag filled with all things good!! I'll show you all the yummy goodness in another post.

They also gave me the prettiest card. I wanted to be able to enjoy it daily, so instead of tucking it away, I trimmed it, laminated it, and punched holes to put into my planner:

Journaling Bible: As for Me and my House

Hey there this awesome Tuesday!!!

My husband and I found this pretty framed art at Kirkland's and it said, "As for Me and My House, We Shall Serve Lord." Joshua 24:15
With our 3 kids grown and living on their own, we pray for them daily. We pray that they will remain close to God and not stray from that narrow path. So.....this prayer is perfect to read over daily and declare our family servers of our Lord!!!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a Blessed Tuesday!!!

Journaling Bible: Joshua 1:9

Hope your Monday has started off well. I normally dread Mondays, but last week I took some vacation days to enjoy my son and his girlfriend being home. So the 4 day weekend was full of visitors and wonderful times!!!!

This is another one of my favorite bible verses. One, because my son Josh wears this on a pendant all the time, and two, I just love words: "Be Strong and Courageous...for I am with you wherever you go!" Do NOT fear, God NEVER leaves your side!

Supplies used:

Kraft Stickers: Target $1 Spot, Sharpie Fine Point Marker, and Making Memories rub-on letters.

Have a Blessed Monday!

Week 39 in my Ochre Malden

I have been waiting for this week for months!!! I ordered my Ochre Malden from Amazon many months ago, and I ordered it specifically to use during the fall months.
I am so in love with the beautiful color, soft, buttery feel, and the oh-so-wonderful smell!!! It smells like a brand new pair of Ariat boots!!!

And if you look a little lower...you will see a super cute Planner Charm that my son and his girlfriend had made for me!!! My birthday is in a couple of weeks and the spoiling has begun! LOL It's got a few of my favorite things: a pink owl, Instagram, Starbucks coffee, and a pink macaroon!!!!! Thank you Caleb and Amber!!!!

The stickers are by EK Success, the Leaf Washi is from WalMart ( I think) and the thin washi and Handmade Paper clip were a gift from my son's girlfriend. She's also a Planner Addict, so she's a keeper!! LOL The floral bookmark is by teNeues: designer is Carolyn Gavin. This was a pack of 12 bookmarks called Garden Jots that I got at Goodwill for $2.  On the back of the bookmark it says NOTES and have lines all the way down. I rounded the edges and punched holes in it.  Perfect for for my planner.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a blessed Sunday!!!

Journaling Bible: YOU are Precious

Well, we are STILL his children, little or not, and He loves us still! We ARE Precious in His sight!!!

Isaiah 43: 1-4

Here are the supplies I used:

Kraft letters are from Target's $1 spot, Rub-Ons are from years ago by daisyd's, Rub-On alpha letters are by Making Memories, Craft Chalks, Stickers by Creative Imaginations.

Journaling Bible: A Wise Woman

I'm lucky to have a wonderful sister in law, the bonus: she's a Pastor. So during many of our heart to heart chats she will throw in a bible verse to encourage me.

This was one of the many that she shared with me, and it's never left my mind:

So, thank you Elizabeth for your encouraging words and support!

For this, I used a rubberstamp for owls, letter stickers, and my Pilot Precise v5 pen in black. The Kraft tabs are by The Paper Studio.

Have a blessed Wednesday!!!

Journaling Bible: The Lord is my Light....

and my Salvation, Whom Shall I Fear? Doesn't this verse just bring you comfort!?

I find that giving it all over to God brings me peace and comfort. This verse is a constant reminder that God has everything under control.

I've had some people ask me to list the products that I use. My problem is, these are older products that I have had in my scrapbooking stash! So most are out of packaging.
I can say I use craft chalks, letter stickers, free writing w/ my Pilot Precise V5 pens,
and cardstock scraps.

Have a blessed Tuesday!!!

Journaling Bible: Cast Your Burdens

One more post before bedtime. Poor hubby had to work late tonight, so that gave me some one on one time with God.
I love this verse: Psalm 55:22 "Cast Your Burden on the Lord, and He will Sustain You, He will never permit the righteous to be moved!"
How awesome is that?!

On this page, I used a rubber stamp by The Greeting Farm, don't you just feel like her sometimes?!
I used Copics to color her in, and a black Fine Point Sharpie to write the verse and to outline my journaling. The tab at the top was handmade with some scrapbooking scraps by Basic Grey.

HAVE A BLESSED NIGHT!

Meet our Rescue Dogs

Good Monday to you! I'd like you meet our 2 rescue dogs. We've had them a little over  a week. They were thrown along a busy country road intersection. By the time we got to them, we estimate they had been there for about a week.
The brown dog had been hit by car/truck at some time, and will need medical attention to tend to his leg.
The white dog was in dire need of a grooming. His fur was severely matted and his nails were so long!
Both were covered in fleas.

The Capture: We had to lure them closer to us, and gain their trust. They were hungry, thirsty and scared.
The brown dog was easier to catch, then the little white one. Both are males, not yet  neutered.
We had to use our black poodle, Bella, to lure the little white poodle over to us. He was curious about her, so it took us about 30 mins to gain his trust and catch him.

Both were taken to a local shelter, but because she is extremely filled to capacity, we agreed to foster them until they are well enough to find permanent loving homes.
Judy Bunn, of Judy's Ark gave them a look over, some shots and some grooming.

HE did not enjoy this at ALL!!! He had never been groomed and this was traumatic for him, no matter how gentle we tried being with him.

Here he is after a good groom from head to toe, this service was donated by Ginna Quinn of Fresh and Clean Dog Grooming. She donated her time and services to get him all handsome looking. He looks and feels much better!!!

And this is him relaxing this weekend. He doesn't have a name yet, he is about 1 to 1 1/2 years old and as sweet and playful as he can be!

The brown dog is under a year old, but spends his day resting due to his leg hurting. He will be seen by the vet this week.
Hopefully these 2 boys will be adopted out together, since they are so close to eachother. When one is not around, the other howls until they are reunited. Hope they get a good, loving home soon.

Check back later this week for their update!

Thanks for visiting.
Have a great day!

Journaling Bible: Draw Near to God

Happy Monday!!! I don't particularly care for Mondays, because for me, it means back to work, but hey...each new day is a blessing from God.
Today I'm using James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Often in times of trouble we seem to pull away from God, let us remember, that the closer we get to Him, the closer He will get to US!

Here is my entry for today:

In today's post, as well as yesterday's I used these vellum quote overlays. I found them in my scrapbooking stash. I love when I rediscover things I had forgotten about. NO shopping needed!

Have a Wonderful Monday!!
God Bless You!

Journaling Bible: We Walk by Faith

I have this sign in my bathroom that says "For we walk by Faith, not by Sight" 2 Cor. 5:7. I love this verse because it's a daily reminder to give it all to God. It's probaby easier said than done, but sometimes I have to remind myself to stop looking at situations and just have Faith that God has it all under control.

If you enjoy these posts, you will be inspired by a group on Facebook:
Journaling Bible Community.

Hope your Sunday was a blessed one!

Journaling Bible: John 3:16

This is a verse that almost everyone knows;
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son...." Can you imagine this? His love was so great for us that He gave his ONLY Son. Praise God for His love and forgiveness!!!!

It was so wonderful being off yesterday.
Today it's back to work!!!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!!

Jeremiah 33:3 'CALL ON ME"

This is one of my favorite bible verses: Jeremiah 33:3, "Call on Me and I will show you Great and Mighty things which you have not seen before". Only God can do this! Call on Him and only HE can show you things you would have never imagined!!!

Have a wonderful Labor Day!!

On this, I used Washi Tape, "Prepare to be Amazed" is a clear rubberstamp. I did away w/ packaging so I'm not sure who makes this. "great" are letter stickers and the Red letters are rub-ons by Doodlebug Designs...they gave me grief. I love rub-ons but some are more stubborn or flimsy, depending on their mood. :)
